Details
The Swiss-designed TESA Brown & Sharpe dial caliper measures 0 to 150mm with 0.02mm accuracy. The black graduations on the no-glare, satin-chrome finished yellow dial face allows for reliable and accurate readings. The knife-edge contacts are used to scribe parallel lines on the workpiece. Tesa Metric 150mm Dial Calipers measure the distance between two opposing sides of an object. Dial calipers give direct and accurate readings and are functionally identical to vernier calipers. Dial calipers have two jaws: one fixed jaw with a calibrated scale, and another sliding jaw with a movable pointer. The lock screw holds the jaws in a fixed position and this aid in a one-hand operation. The jaw depths on this caliper are 40mm for the outside measuring jaws and 13mm for the inside measuring jaws. Linear accuracy of this hand-held instrument is in accordance with Deutsches Institut fur Normung (DIN) 862: Vernier Calipers Requirements and Testing standards. The depth rod is aesthetically integrated into the rack of the calipers which is uncommon in many other calipers. Also, a circular dial with a pointer on a toothed gear rack replaces the second vernier scale on a Tesa 150mm Dial Calipers. The bar, measuring surfaces, rack, gears, and depth rod is made from hardened stainless steel and thus offers corrosion resistance, increased accuracy, and long life. Spring controlled mechanism provides anti-backlash control. Brown & Sharpe was founded in 1833, and acquired by Hexagon Metrology in 2001. Since then, it has focused on precision measuring equipment and metrology hand tools. The company is into the manufacturing of coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), optical measuring systems, benchtop measuring machines, and precision hand tools with facilities in North America, Switzerland, and China.
